Friday Five: Books to Read

Since one of my goals this year is to read more, I thought it would help to plan ahead with my reading, so here are 5 of the books I intend to read.

1. Counterfeit Gods by Timothy Keller.

2. The Help by Kathryn Stockett

3. The End of Overeating by David Kessler

4. I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith

5. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

Have you read any of these? What books would you recommend?

Don’t forget to enter the book giveaway if you haven’t already. You have until 5 p.m. CST!

  1. I've read The Help, The End of Overeating, Of Mice and Men. They were all really good. I'm really into Elizabeth Berg right now so hers would be on my list of “need to read.”

I read The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown but didn't love it as much as some of his other books.

  2. I've read the Kessler and the Smith. The Kessler was one of the best books I read last year. I read prodigal God by Keller, and I admit I didn't think it was “all that” – however, I wouldn't judge an author based on one work. I look forward to hearing about Counterfeit Gods. It's looks interesting. ~ L

  3. I read of Mice and Men back in high school but actually read it again just a few months ago. It's a classic and I wanted to get it out and read it again. It's a quick read, which I like sometimes. Excellent book!

  4. The Help is on my book club list in a month or two. Not sure about the others, well except Of Mice and Men, I think I read that in high school.

  5. I miss reading. Not much time for it around here. Most of my reading consists of Brown Bear, Cat in the Hat, Go Dog Go, etc. You get the idea! I'm hoping for a vacation sans hubby and kids next month so I'll certainly be open for good vacation read suggestions! 🙂
